Canada’s Got the Right Idea (eh?)

Canada Begins Paired Kidney Program

Canada is taking a stride forward this week, announcing the first successful transplant as part of their “paired kidney” program.

In what might help Canadians waiting for kidney transplants, doctors from St Michael’s Hospital and Toronto General Hospital carried out their first kidney transplant under the Paired Kidney Exchange Program, which helped two patients receive kidneys from each other’s spouse.

This is great – seriously. This is what we need, people willing to donate organs to people in need. A program like this is a huge step towards getting people the transplants need.

Kudos to you Canada – keep up the good work!

WordPress Wins

I asked last week what blogging software people would recommend as I move to the “next step”.
Don’t get me wrong, blogger.com provided a wonderful service to me over the last year or so, but now I am demanding more of my blog, and need something that really gives me control over how it functions.
There was one recommendation for Typepad (Moveable Type). After looking into it a bit I decided that I may be ready for something like that in another year or two when I’m a professional blogger.
*HaHa*

So anyway, thank you for your patience … We are now up and running on wordpress – a wonderful opensource blogging project. It offers some pretty cool features, and is totally customizable.
Most importantly though, it is running on my domain, which means I can do this:
IT Goons
I can now POST PICTURES! :)

Please contact me if you are noticing problems with the new site – also, please run around and click on lots of things to make sure it’s all working (Like, don’t be afraid to post a comment if for no other reason than just to make sure it’s working).
More to come…
